Tagline: A town divided. A bridge destroyed. One hour to prove you're heroes.
The Hook
The party arrives at a small river town to find its only bridge collapsed, stranding a sick child on the far side from the healer. The mayor begs for help: get across the river, retrieve the child, and bring them back before sundown. Simple -- until it becomes clear someone broke the bridge on purpose.
The bridge wasn't destroyed by a monster or a storm. The town's ferryman sabotaged it because the bridge was bankrupting his family. He's not evil -- he's desperate. The party has to navigate a problem where the "villain" is a father trying to feed his kids, and the real threat is a territorial river troll that's been waiting for the bridge to fall.
What Players Will Experience
The Broken Bridge is a 60-90 minute micro one-shot that blends classic fantasy adventure with genuine moral complexity. Your players will investigate sabotage, cross a dangerous river, fight a territorial troll mid-current, and ultimately decide the fate of a man whose only crime was feeding his children.
Three endings ensure player choices matter. Every table will handle the ferryman differently -- and that conversation is what makes this adventure unforgettable.
