About This Adventure

Tagline: They said the prisoner was dangerous. They didn't say she was innocent.

The Hook

It sounded like easy money. Guildmaster Harlan Vance needs reliable people to escort a prisoner to the capital for trial. The pay is generous -- too generous, really, for simple escort work. The only conditions: don't talk to her, don't believe her lies, and deliver her alive.

But the prisoner doesn't match the description. Sera Vane isn't ranting or scheming. She's calm, cooperative, and quietly terrified. She thanks the party for small kindnesses and waits for them to figure out what she already knows: the "bandits" who attack aren't random. They're guild enforcers. And the trial in the capital isn't a trial -- it's an execution. She found evidence that Guildmaster Vance is a murderer and a thief. Now she's being silenced, and the party has been hired to help make it happen.

What do you do when following orders means becoming complicit in evil?

What Players Will Experience

The Long Road Home is a 3-4 hour adventure of moral tension, desperate combat, and choices that matter. Players will escort a prisoner who might be innocent, fight enemies who might be right, negotiate with a brother who will do anything to save his sister, and face a final confrontation where there's no neutral ground.

Four distinct endings ensure that player choices -- not dice rolls -- determine who lives, who dies, and who walks away with clean hands.

  • 7 scenes with road adventure structure -- each day brings new revelations
